The Investing in Women’s Futures (IWF) program offers flexible programs and services to address the needs of women in the Windsor-Essex community.

The Investing in Women’s Futures (IWF) program is an amazing opportunity for women of all status (PR, VISA, Citizen, etc.). It is a comprehensive program that aims to prevent violence against women and promote women’s economic independence by helping women develop skills and abilities that will reduce their vulnerability to poverty and abuse.

The program prioritizes activities that promote:

  1. Prevention of violence against women
  2. Economic security for women

Services Include

Essential Computer Skills Training

  • Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Typing Tips and Instruction
  • Basic Computer Training – Microsoft Word 2010
  • Intermediate Computer Training – Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Internet, Email and Social Media

Job Readiness Training

  • Resume, Cover Letter, References
  • Interview Skills Development
  • Employment Rights
  • WHMIS

Skill Building Groups

  • Women’s Wellness Groups
  • Life Skills Groups
  • Mama Lyanga Knitting Circle
  • English Conversation Circle

Creative & Fun Activities

  • Fitness, Dance and Meditation
  • Art, Games and Films
  • Building Connections and Meeting New Peoples

Eligibility

  • All women of any status
  • Minimum language ability: CLB 3+ (Canadian Language Benchmark)
  • No computer knowledge required for basic training
